What is Pennsylvania Rising?

Pennsylvania Rising is a project of Abolish Abortion PA. The goal of this project is to help Christians throughout the state to get involved in the fight against abortion by making it as easy as possible to get started. Below are simple step by step instructions for you to get started today from home or your smart phone and with only a few minutes of your time. The impact of us all doing this together at the same time will be three-fold. 1. We get more of us involved. 2. We get the attention of state legislators who need to act against abortion. 3. We get more Pastors involved starting in Week 3. If you’ve been sitting on the sidelines, now is your chance to step onto the court. If you have been in the fight with us, we still need you to join this effort. If you have any questions feel free to reach out to us at info@abolishabortionpa.com

We are now in the final month of Pennsylvania Rising 2023. This month we wanted to go out big by encouraging all of you to take the truth of God’s word and message of abolition to your nearest city council. We have created a list of cities throughout the state where abortion mills are actively killing every week. In this list you will see the address, dates and times of meetings and how to get registered to speak there. Below we have also provided a few bullet points to help guide you in what you should say. We want to call the city council to do their duty before God and also get the attention of the rest of the Pennsylvania church.

My best advice to you is, don’t over think it. You know the gospel, you know what God says about the preborn and about the civil government. Go there prayerfully and in faith and speak God’s word. Trust God with the results of your speaking time.

Tips for Speaking at City Council:

  • Be respectful
  • Make sure they know babies are being murdered in their city
  • Make sure they know that God will judge their work in civil government
  • Look up how many babies are murdered by the abortion mill in your city each year and make that number known.
  • Call them to repent and count the preborn from the moment of fertilization, as worthy of equal protection of the laws in their city
  • Use scripture(Psalm 2, Proverbs 24:11-12, Romans 13, Deuteronomy 16:29-30, and more)

DEMOCRAT EMAIL SCRIPT

Dear Pro-Abortion Legislator,

First, thank you for your service to your district. I pray you serve your constituents well. You may not realize it, but you have been given a heavy responsibility as a legislator. This responsibility comes with potentially severe consequences for failing to uphold justice. I don’t mean losing your next election, although that is a very real consequence. I’m referring to the consequences promised by God for not obeying him and his law (Isaiah 10, Psalm 2).

You have been placed in your position by God himself (Romans 13) and therefore you are not primarily accountable to your constituents, but to the one true God, the Triune God, Yahweh. In Pennsylvania and the United States, we are a republic built on transcendent law and not a pure democracy where the majority dictates. When it comes to the plight of the pre-born, a holocaust far exceeding any other in history, the response of legislators nationwide has been nothing short of disgraceful. This is seen in the fact that every state that “banned” abortion after Roe was overturned, still allows a mother to commit murder against her own child without penalty so long as she does it by herself. This is sinful partiality and therefore injustice. A different form of partiality is seen in the current laws of our state which allow for abortion as long as the murderous doctor and parents obey certain healthcare regulations (i.e. Abortion Control Act). Worse yet, you support abortion in a way that exceeds even the unjust laws that regulate the wholesale trampling of the fundamental right to life of an entire class of human. What you have supported goes far beyond the partiality of Republicans; your position and situation is described by the Apostle Paul in Romans 1:18-32. It starts with idolatry of self by suppressing the truth about God in unrighteousness, grows with worshipping creature rather than Creator, and ends with being given over in the wrath of God to a depraved mind where you don’t even know right from wrong anymore. It’s this humanistic worldview that has led to countless atrocities throughout history, the Holocaust, chattel Slavery (man-stealing), the Killing Fields, rape rooms in Iraq and countless others. Classes of human are thought of as less than human, and the result is a green light to all sorts of evil. Abortion is no different- you might say you see it as a women’s rights issue, but it’s just truth suppression by another name; it’s a promotion of self-worship where innocent children are sacrificed at the altar.

You are duty-bound by your oaths to the Pennsylvania and US Constitutions as well as to God to provide equal protection of the laws to children in the womb from the moment of fertilization. Until that is accomplished, the injustice of abortion will continue, and God’s judgment will be upon our commonwealth. Your duty before God is not to determine your actions based upon what your constituents say they want, but on the righteous law of God written on your heart. God is sovereign and works through headship. He changed the heart of even the King of Nineveh to repent and proclaim a decree of repentance throughout the land. John Calvin said, “when God wants to judge a nation, He gives them wicked rulers”. You are a wicked ruler, however, you are not beyond the grace of God, but you have been placed in this position having your current beliefs as a result of God’s judgment, a judgment that is meant to lead to repentance. “The times of ignorance, God overlooked, but now he commands all people everywhere to repent, because he has fixed a day on which he will judge the world in righteousness by a man whom he has appointed, and of this he has given assurance to all by raising him from the dead” (Acts 17:30-31).

We call upon you to obey God by authoring and giving your time and energy to the advancement of legislation that will provide equal protection of law to pre-born human beings from the moment of fertilization, allowing them to be protected from murder just as you and I have been. Do unto others as you would have them do unto you. Think about what you would want done for you if there was a law allowing you to be legally murdered. We both know you’d want that institution totally abolished and not regulated. I look forward to watching you rise boldly, and your name go down in history as a champion for the pre-born in Pennsylvania.

Sincerely,

*YOUR NAME*
